Merry Christmas

We tried to take a picture of ourselves for Christmas and I didn't really like it but then I sent it to Shari and she did her magic and voila our Family Christmas picture.

We don't have snow in Florida but we do get Mistletoe that grows on the tree outside our apartment. Ryan is the one who spotted it. I am not sure it is even mistletoe, he was probably just hankering for a smooch.

Deya gave Ryan a necklace she made in school it has a big beautiful amulet on it made out of clay.

Lots of fun books to read from Grandma

Evalyn didn't really understand how to unwrap the presents so she just wandered around the room picking up dicarded wrapping paper and tasting it.

Here is Deya after she got to see the presents for the first time. I went into her room on Christmas Eve to check on her long after I thought she was asleep. I went over to her window and looked out. Out of the darkness came her little voice "hi mommy, I know why you are looking out the window. You are looking for Santa Clause!" She was so excited that there were bites taken out of the cookies she left out for santa.

Evalyn is a dancer just like her sister. She really gets into the music. This is her christmas present to me, constant entertainment.

Evalyn's Birthday

On the morning of her birthday.

Her morning stretch.

Bleary eyed beauty.

A little more awake. We get up early because Deya starts school at 7:45.

Here we are just about to walk Deya to school. It is only .6 of a mile so we walk her every day.

It is time for her birthday nap.

She is so fun to hang out with all day long.

Here she is opening her birthday present.

She loves it!

She got a little worn out and didn't last long enough to eat her cake.

Here she is the next day ready to eat her cake.

She looks excited but she never actually ate her cake.  She doesn't like food very much.

This is Evalyn and her friend Ryo, he is testing out her wagon with his teddy bear. Evalyn is intrigued by this use of her wagon.

She thought that this was what she was supposed to do with it.

Here is a picture of our Christmas tree, Deya and I decorated it together.

This Week

We had a great week. Ryan turned 29 and we partied hard. Deya swam for the first time by herself. To top it all off we got to see Scott again!

Deya and Evalyn

This is Rapunzel with her long hair, she makes me carry it around for her because that is what Flynn Ryder does in the movie. Sometimes she calls me Eugene Fitzherbert.
This is her with her pile of hair. Sometimes she likes the braided look that is when I am in trouble.
Evalyn in her blessing dress.
Her face makes me melt.
My sleepy girl in her carseat.
Evalyn in her swing.
Deya's favorite song to sing to Evalyn. Here is Evalyn in her Bumbo seat.

Happy Halloween!!!

Deya is a flower fairy.

We had a great Halloween even though Deya has been sick. She is slowly recovering and is acting like herself again. Only a little over two weeks until the baby is due. Deya is excited and I am big and ready. I hope the baby comes soon.

Deya Turns 4

Deya had a great time at her birthday party. Too bad she was allergic to her cake. I made up for it and baked her another one a few days later. Her favorite part of the day were the balloons and the sparklers. For fun we went and saw a movie and then we had hamburgers cooked on the grill.

New Orleans Zoo

We had a wonderful time at the New Orleans Zoo. Deya made a friend whose parents run one of the radio stations in Houma and they hooked us up with free tickets to the zoo, the New Orleans Aquarium and an awesome waterpark/amusement park in Baton Rouge. So far we have been to the zoo. Here is Kuzco the llama.

Deya really wanted to see some dinosaurs at the zoo. I am glad they had one.
This is Deya with her new best friend Amanda looking at the white alligator. She kept meeting new best friends at the zoo and she would hold hands with them and ask them their name and tell them her name. One time she went up to this little girl and her mom and told them her name and they just didn't understand and they kept repeating her name back to her wrong and finally Deya burst into tears and came running to me and Ryan. She was so upset that they couldn't get her name right. The mom came up and apologized and asked me her name. Now she won't tell anyone her name, she comes and gets me and makes me tell them. Maybe I should tell her about stranger danger.
It was fun to see alligators so close up, they were my favorite animal to see at the zoo.

Deya was so happy to go on the carousel, we went exactly a year ago and she chose the exact same animal to ride as last year out of the hundred to choose from.

They have an awesome elephant show at this zoo. We got to touch an elephant on the bum. Deya thought it was really cool. You can see her hands clapping for the elephant in the video.
