Deya Turns 4

Deya had a great time at her birthday party. Too bad she was allergic to her cake. I made up for it and baked her another one a few days later. Her favorite part of the day were the balloons and the sparklers. For fun we went and saw a movie and then we had hamburgers cooked on the grill.

New Orleans Zoo

We had a wonderful time at the New Orleans Zoo. Deya made a friend whose parents run one of the radio stations in Houma and they hooked us up with free tickets to the zoo, the New Orleans Aquarium and an awesome waterpark/amusement park in Baton Rouge. So far we have been to the zoo. Here is Kuzco the llama.

Deya really wanted to see some dinosaurs at the zoo. I am glad they had one.
This is Deya with her new best friend Amanda looking at the white alligator. She kept meeting new best friends at the zoo and she would hold hands with them and ask them their name and tell them her name. One time she went up to this little girl and her mom and told them her name and they just didn't understand and they kept repeating her name back to her wrong and finally Deya burst into tears and came running to me and Ryan. She was so upset that they couldn't get her name right. The mom came up and apologized and asked me her name. Now she won't tell anyone her name, she comes and gets me and makes me tell them. Maybe I should tell her about stranger danger.
It was fun to see alligators so close up, they were my favorite animal to see at the zoo.

Deya was so happy to go on the carousel, we went exactly a year ago and she chose the exact same animal to ride as last year out of the hundred to choose from.

They have an awesome elephant show at this zoo. We got to touch an elephant on the bum. Deya thought it was really cool. You can see her hands clapping for the elephant in the video.

Summer in Louisiana

Memorial Day in Houma. The sun was really bright so Deya covered her eyes most of the time we were out.

Deya's signature ballerina move

She can be graceful

What a leap

Happy Birthday Deya

I put the pictures in the wrong order than I intended this first picture is of Deya trying to get the wings from the fairy costume she got for her birthday. I put them up high in my closet during nap time. I won't do that again. She climbed up on top of my suitcase and was able to reach them but then fell and got stuck in the suitcase she had been standing on. I was later showing Ryan how high up the wings were and Deya was listening and said "Don't worry Mommy I can reach them"
Here she is opening her fairy costume. She loves to play dress up.
It is a little big but she doesn't seem to mind.

She really wanted a pink cake with strawberries on top and she had been talking about it for a whole week. I think the cake was the most important part of her birthday to her.
We had a great time at chuckee cheeses. Here is a mechanical chuckee that dances. A guy dressed up like chuckee came out too and gave Deya a big hug. She was so happy about it.

I had to put thses pictures of Deya doing her home work because she reminds me of me doing statistics. If she gets frustrated she lets out a long sigh and puts her head on the table for a minute and then she tries again.
One last picture of her in her birthday suit.
